Before hair loss and baldness can be treated, it is important to know the various hair loss causes. One is hormones. Among men, hair loss can be hereditary, brought about by hormones that cause shrinking of hair follicles.

Among women, pregnancy and  can cause hair loss because of abnormal hormones during these periods. Another reason is stress. One of the most serious stress-induced hair loss conditions is called alopecia areata, which is the falling out of hair in patches.

Certain medical conditions can also bring about baldness and the loss of hair. Intake of some medicines, chemotherapy sessions, high fever and surgery are among these.

Plus, constant hair treatments, like bleaching and dyeing, as well as wearing tight ponytails and braids, can result in hair loss as well. Another important factor for having healthy hair is a healthy diet; eating essential fruits and vegetables can go a long way in promoting a head of long, beautiful hair.

Modern technology has made treatments for hair loss more widely available. From the more common creams and medicines to the more advance surgeries, people now have a lot of choices when it comes to treating baldness and hair loss.

Creams and lotions can grow hair back when applied to the scalp, while medicines help hair growth when taken. One example is Minoxidil. Surgeries, on the other hand, are designed for those who have more serious problems or for those who want permanent results. They cost more but are really effective.

Although there are already a lot of treatments available, nothing beats hair care in preventing baldness. Hair loss is common among different people, and there are a lot of ways to prevent abnormalities. The most basic is a proper diet, especially one with lots of fruits and vegetables.

It is also important to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid excessive smoking and drinking because they contribute to baldness and hair loss. Plus, it is important to shampoo regularly and avoid applying harsh chemicals.

And when styling, it is important to ensure that the hair is not stretched too much. With proper care, having healthy hair is easy.

There are many resources available online to treat alopecia and hair loss in general. These medications and herbal solutions are only effective for the most simple cases of this illness, and people suffering from severe scalp symptoms must visit a physician for a personal consultation.

Concern and sometimes a nightmare for many men and women, hair loss is still a health problem, and its origins are still unclear Famale Baldnessfor the science that many times is unable to find the most appropriate solutions.
Alopecia affects millions of men around the world primarily from the 17 years old, and a much smaller percentage of women. While we can find all sorts of medical reasons to explain the causes of this hair disorder condition, its origins are still quite mysterious. Hereditary causes, diet, race, stress and many more are trying to explain why people of all ages and races are suffering from alopecia .

Male BaldnessThe androgenetic alopecia is the most common type of baldness in men, and is caused when the hair follicles begin to close, and produces a thinned and shorter hair, until the new hair production is completely null and the baldness occurs in certain areas of the scalp . It is not yet known why this happens, but they stop producing hair in a normal manner. However, follicles remain alive, and some experts suggest they can go back through massage techniques producing normal hair. In typical male baldness the hair begins to fall from the front to back, producing a sort of M, and at the crown of the head.

Androgenetic alopecia in women is different of the man ailment, and the hair becomes thin in the entire area of the scalp but does not fall. The doctors recognizes genetic, hormonal and aging causes to explain this condition.

Here are the main treatments that are used to the hair loss treatment. Hair transplant

Minoxidil is a medication applied directly to the scalp to dilate and stimulate hair follicles. Slows the hair loss and in some patients the hair grows again. The results that are achieved with this drug are not permanent, because if you stop using the drug, the hair becomes weak and falls back into a period of 2 to 4 months.

Finasteride. It is marketed under the brand name of Propecia and Proscar, and is a medication that requires a medical prescription. Its effect is to inhibit the production of the male hormone. It has similar effects than minoxidil, because if you stop taking the medicine the problems of hair loss reappear.

. Consists in the extraction of parts of the scalp where the hair grows normally, and its implantation in the areas where there are problems with baldness. The technique is performed several times until the treatment is complete, and if it is done in the proper way, the results are permanent.

Capillary massage. Is undoubtedly the natural treatment for excellence and if you have the enough consistency the results are excellent. Irrigation promotes the regeneration of the weak hair, but there is no evidence of new hair growing with this technique. Combined with the use of minoxidil or finasteride may have that effect. The effects of this technique are not permanent and if the sessions are interrupted the hair begins to fall again.

Male Treatment for hair lossPropecia (generic name: Finasteride) is an FDA approved pill for treatment of male pattern baldness in men. Manufactured by pharmaceutical company Merck and Co. Propecia (finasteride) has been in use since 1997 and is currently one of the most prescribed pills for treating male pattern baldness. Propecia has been clinically proven as a medicine that helps increase hair growth and prevent further hair loss in men suffering from male pattern baldness.

What is male pattern baldness?

Male pattern baldness often progresses to partial or complete baldness in men.

Male pattern baldness is caused by the effect of the male sex hormone called testosterone. By an action of enzyme called 5-alpha reductase, testosterone is converted to hydrotestosterone (DHT). When the level of the DHT goes above a certain level it acts on the hormone receptor on the hair follicle and produces weak, shorter hair. It also slows down hair production gradually depleting your stock of hair.

How Propecia (finasteride) works?

Finasteride – the active compound in Propecia belongs to a group of medicine called 5 alpha reductase inhibitors. Propecia works by blocking the enzyme, Type II 5 alpha-reductase and thereby inhibit the production of DHT. The DHT is the chief cause of male pattern baldness as it can shrink the hair follicle until it no longer produces visible hair. Regular use of Propecia keeps the production of DHT in check and therefore helps in stopping further hair loss and also assists in new hair growth.

How do I use Propecia?

Propecia (finasteride) pill is to be taken orally once a day, with or without food. The standard prescribed dosage of Propecia for male pattern baldness is 1mg tablet once a day. Ideally the dose should be taken regularly and at the same time everyday.
3 mothns Befor effectIt takes about three months before the effect of Propecia is seen on hair growth. You must continue to use Propecia to maintain hair growth. Once you stop taking Propecia any gain in hair quantity is generally lost within 12 months. Please consult your doctor about the right dosage of Propecia finasteride medicine for you. Never decrease or exceed the dosage of Propecia on your own.

Propecia should not be used by women and children. Pregnant women or those who are planning to become pregnant should not even touch a Propecia tablet if it is broken or crushed.

What are Propecia (finasteride) side effects?

Propecia (finasteride) is a safe and well-tolerated drug but like other prescription medicines it does come with certain side effects.A small number of men have reported sexual side effects such as decreased desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection and a decrease in the amount of semen released during sex. Sexually related Propecia side effects go away when the medication is stopped.

Other Propecia side effects include allergic reactions including rash, itching, hives, and swelling of the lips and face, problems with ejaculation, breast tenderness and enlargement, and testicular pain. Please report to your doctor immediately if notice any changes in your breasts such as lumps, pain, or nipple discharge or if any of the side effects become bothersome.

Famale Hair lossPeople often have the mistaken notion that only males can lose hair and that alopecia is a physiological defect the gentle sex is exempt from. As a matter of fact, almost 20% of females in the world are in dire need of protection from the frightful menace of losing their beautiful hair. Most of them have never imagined that there is such a possibility in a woman’s life. First of all, there is the female pattern alopecia, which is somewhat similar to the male pattern baldness, though much less severe. Women seem now to be increasingly threatened by what is called diffuse idiopathic alopecia, the cause of which has not yet been definitely ascertained. It is an insidious disease which may not be apparent until about 80% of the hair is lost, and is then manifest as a diffuse thinning of the hair over the entire scalp.

Testosterone excretion has been shown to be elevated, and some theories have been put forward on this basis to explain this type of female alopecia. It is said that this type of alopecia is associated with seborrhea. Anyhow seborrhea should be controlled, no matter whether or not it is really the cause of the hair fall. It has also been suggested that estrogens should be taken internally. How effective this therapy is has not yet been determined. Another suggested treatment is low-dose interrupted courses of corticosteroids. It’s now not so wonderful as it once seemed to be. The Female-use Evergreen hair regenerator we are introducing to patients here is based on the remarkable efficacy of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs in tackling hair loss problems. External application is combined with oral administration, if necessary. And the afflicted girl or woman must be persuaded not to develop any strong neurotic reaction to the hair loss. This is the way traditional Chinese medical practitioners do their work.

In ancient China silk of the light blue color was very precious. It was used only for making rich garments. A beautiful woman’s hair was compared to light-blue silk. The famous poet of the Tang Dynasty Bai Juyi noticed the pitiful fact that women also lost hair and described it in the following line:’Fell the silk of light blue and sparse grew the temples.’ Hair treatmentThe situation deplored by the renowned Tang Dynasty poet has become more serious in the contemporary world. But there is no need for female to get into a panic if she finds a few hairs on her pillow in the morning. It is normal for a person, whether male or female, to lose 50-100 pieces of hair during the 24 hours of a day, because he/she is supposed to have one hundred thousand pieces of hair on his/her scalp. If the person washes his/her head and finds a lot of hair in the water, then the situation is more serious. It is highly probable that he/she is losing hair. It is certain that a woman will feel greatly alarmed or even become ashamed of herself if she should discover that her scalp is barely covered by a thin layer of hair. This is a natural reaction, because her beauty is impaired. Now, what are the causes of hair loss in the case of females? An obvious cause is some chronic skin disease. It must not be overlooked that ringworm may bring about alopecia with scaling and pustulation. This is far more serious than alopecia which is due to other diseases, such as anemia, so far as the possibility of regrowth of hair is concerned.

Hair loss
hair lossAs different men have different opinions and feelings about their hair loss, some go a long way to get a treatment for it while some take it lightly and do nothing about it.

Causes of hair loss

Hair loss is a gradual process that may start in men at any age. Though most men suffer from hair loss in their late thirties or forties, some men suffer from it at a very early age. Hair loss occurs because of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone or DHT in some men. It can even be genetic in nature. Sometimes hair loss occurs as a side effect of some medicine. In order to know what caused your hair loss, it is important to consult a doctor. If your hair loss is caused due to hormonal factors, it may be reversed using a drug or treatment. So consult a doctor and find out the cause of your hair loss.

Treatments available for hair loss

hair loss treatmentSome years back there were no proven remedies for hair loss. Men used to apply various types of oils and ointments but to no avail. Some men took solace from toupees, hats, and wigs. All these were however no permanent solution and men felt the need for a better treatment.

Constant scientific research yielded some results and various types of topical lotions came into existence.

However, it was an irksome task applying these lotions and some men even had skin reactions.

Another treatment for hair loss came about just a few years ago and was sold as Propecia by Merck. This treatment for hair loss is still available and has shown great results. The success rate of Propecia is 90% and it not only stops hair loss but also results in hair re-growth in many cases. Many men worldwide take Propecia to stop their hair loss and call it a magic pill. However, it is no magic pill but just a medication, which was originally developed for prostate cancer. However, a rare side effect of this medication was growth in visible hair and hence a low dosage form of finasteride (active ingredient of Propecia) was set under trials for hair loss.

This medication was easily approved for hair loss as there are not many side effects and it has a high success rate.

Propecia – Is it the best hair loss treatment?

Propecia is a prescription treatment for hair loss. It has shown promising results in clinical trials and post-marketing surveys. Moreover, there are very few side effects of Propecia and they occur in less than 2% of men who take Propecia. The side effects of Propecia are mostly sexual in nature such as erection problems, low sperm count, and ejaculation problems.
Most men who take Propecia experience no side effects. If however, you experience any side effects on taking Propecia, do inform your doctor immediately. He may ask you to stop this hair loss treatment. It is advisable to avoid taking Propecia if you and your partner are planning to have a child.

Propecia is a safe and effective drug but has some side effects too like all prescription drugs. Therefore, it is not advisable to call it the best treatment for hair loss. Only you from your experience and a doctor from his expertise can find out if Propecia is the best treatment for hair loss or not.

Male Pattern BaldingThere are many reasons why baldness occurs and the types of baldness as well. It is standard for an individual to lose fifty to a hundred hairs a day. This loss is mostly counterbalanced by the growth of fifty to a hundred hairs a day. Hair loss only becomes baldness when the loss is not balanced by the growth of hair.

There are both temporary and permanent baldness. More permanent baldness is caused by a genetic condition called alopecia, or by male pattern balding or female pattern balding, while temporary baldness is mostly caused by stress.

Male pattern balding is reckoned to account for 95% of all balding eventualities. Men who suffer from male pattern balding lose hair at the crown of the head first, lending an ‘M’ shape to their hairline. The hair on top of the head continues to recede, though hair at the rear and the sides of the head do not often recede. This is caused by the DHT hormone, which is the result of converted testosterone.

Scientists believe DHT attacks the hair follicles on the top of the head because they are not as deep as follicles at the rear and sides of the head.

There are many cures for Male Pattern Baldness. Some men select medicine to control the conversion of testosterone to DHT. Medicine may also be beneficial in protecting the follicles against binding to DHT, so inhibiting the damage DHT causes. Hair transplantation takes deeper follicles from the back of the head and places them at the front of the head, filling in thinning spots with follicles more resistant to DHT damage. This treatment is highly effective when also used with a DHT control drug.

Statistics show baldness as extremely common. The odds are you will know a few people who are affected by hair loss. But what are the things you should look for to prevent further balding?

organin baldness trestmentSome people take steps to embrace their baldness. They see themselves as unique and believe that their baldness is something to be proud of. Such men tend to adapt to their change quickly and are likely to be people who are experiencing baldness because of genetic circumstances and feel assured in knowing they have seen it before,
Checking the hairline is another important way of monitoring balding. A hairline working its way up to the crown is known as anterior recession. This is the second of the two main measurements of baldness recognised scientifically.
A good way to recognise change is by comparing the current condition of hair to a recent photograph. Are there any noticeable changes in the hairline or at the crown? If so, there is a chance that the signs could be the onset of male hair loss.
It is common for men to feel a certain respect for influential bald men. In addition, the culture of shaven heads makes some bald men feel like they are part of a fashion clique. This can result in feelings of value and self-worth.
As hair loss and baldness can be caused by emotional trauma and stress, it is not unusual for conditions like alopecia to add to the trauma and make matters worse. This can result in bouts of depression when hair loss is occurring. There are chances of a slippery slope forming, with low morale and stress culminating in more hair loss and forming a nasty cycle.
A question to consider is: Do members of my family suffer from hair loss of baldness? If the answer is yes, the chances of you being affected by hair loss are increased. It is scientifically proven that hair loss can be passed on genetically from any member of your close family.
Confusion can arise when the person in question asks family and friends for their opinions, thoughts and advice. It is likely for everyone to have something different to say. This can worsen the uncertainty the person feels and can cause more upset.
For some, a common response can be one of panic. When showering, the sight of hair being lost can be difficult and upsetting for some people. There have been cases of phobias forming for this, for fear of the sight of hair being lost.
It is believed that one of the key causes of male baldness is the sex hormone DHT, a hormone that is triple the potency of testosterone. The effect that DHT has on baldness has not been established. DHT is an influential sex hormone which also controls facial hair, body hair and the prostrate.
It is unfortunate that some companies cash in by making false promises. There are lot of vulnerable men in shock from losing hair who invest their money into fraudulent schemes. This can cause anger and frustration because they were so susceptible.
As you can see, your health plays a key part in your hair’s wellbeing. Keeping in good health can reduce the chance of hair loss and baldness. Investigate your family history of baldness as well to see if it affects you.
